Planning Your Journey Through Tanzania

What is the best time to travel?

Tanzania is beautiful year-round, but the best time to visit depends on what you want to experience. For classic safaris and the Great Migration, plan between June and October when the weather is dry and wildlife viewing is at its best. For lush green landscapes and fewer crowds, November to March is ideal, especially for birdwatching and calving season in the Serengeti.

What you should pack?

Pack light, breathable clothing in neutral tones for safaris, along with a warm layer for early morning drives. Comfortable walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent are must-haves. For Kilimanjaro climbs or highland areas, bring thermal wear and a good jacket since temperatures can drop sharply.

What is the ideal duration of stay?

A well-rounded Tanzanian journey takes about 7 to 10 days. This allows enough time to explore major highlights like the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and either Lake Manyara or Tarangire, before unwinding along the beaches of Tanzania or the historic coast. For climbers, add at least 5 to 8 days for a proper Mount Kilimanjaro ascent.

What are the required travel documents?

Travelers need a valid passport with at least six months’ validity and a Tanzanian visa, which can be obtained online or upon arrival for most nationalities. It’s also recommended to carry proof of yellow fever vaccination if arriving from or transiting through a risk area. Always check entry updates before traveling, as requirements can change.

Some questions, some answers

How involved will I be in planning my trip?

As much or as little as you’d like. We start with a conversation about what excites you about your upcoming trip from wildlife, culture, relaxation, or a mix of all. From there, we shape the journey together and handle every detail until it feels exactly right.

Are the experiences private or group-based?

Most of our safaris and escapes are fully private, designed around your schedule and preferences. For travelers who enjoy company, we can arrange small group options that still keep comfort and space a priority.

Do you handle flights and transfers too?

Yes, we can take care of everything from domestic flights and airport pickups to private transfers between lodges. If you’d prefer to arrange your international flights yourself, that’s completely fine too.

What level of accommodation should I expect?

We work with handpicked lodges, boutique camps, and private villas that balance comfort with character. Whether you prefer barefoot luxury or classic safari elegance, we match the stay to the atmosphere you want.

What’s the best time of year to visit?

It depends on what you want to experience. The Great Migration happens from June to October, while Zanzibar is perfect year-round. If you share your interests, we’ll guide you toward the best season for your ideal trip.

Can you arrange special experiences or requests?

Absolutely. Hot air balloon rides, private bush dinners, photography safaris, cultural visits — we love making special requests happen. If there’s something specific you’ve dreamed of, just let us know and we’ll make it part of your journey.
